This website explores the concept of the cyborg in the creation of Art and the physical enhancement of humans. This is appropriate for K-12 students with a strong focus for students grades 10-12. The website is divided into three sections:
- The background section provides students with a traditional definition of a cyborg and also introduces the concept of cyborg anthropology.
- The case study section includes two key case studies. One case examines the concept of cyborg as physical enhancements. The second case study explores the relationship between cyborg and the creation of Art. Students are encouraged to look at the uses of technology in the case studies to contemplate whether these cases are innovative or accurate representation of cyborg behaviors. They should also evaluate whether these uses of technology in the cases are natural extensions of traditional art creation and medical practices.
- The third section looks at educational implications and a provides a sample lesson plan related to the theme of Cyborgs in Art.
