Are cyborgs simply a millennial problem?
Each generation questions whether or not the next generation is going to destroy society. Understandably, parents want to make sure that their children are well looked after; children want to make sure that they do not make the same mistakes that their parents made. Arguably, this push and pull relationship is necessary because it challenges boundaries in society, while at the same time keeping it grounded in tradition. The problem is that as the different generations accuse each other of wrong doings, they avoid thinking about the good and bad aspects of each others culture.
The purpose of this case study is not to compare generations, but to decide if technology is changing the way we express ourselves through art. We will not decide whether the potential changes in artistic practice are good or bad; only whether the practices can be considered cyborg behaviour.
